Russian Expedition: New Season

 

Headed by Professor Alexander Sedov and Professor Vitaly Naumkin the Russian expedition will start its operations on 7 November, 2009.  

To quote the expedition organizers, their activities will be concentrated on field archeological studies. They plan to continue digging at the site of ancient settlement located 5 km westward of Hadiboh.

The scientists plan to study Socotrans’ dialects, customs and traditions mainly in Hadiboh and Momi areas.

    In the central part of the East China Sea there is also Socotra Island. It is interesting to note that both Socotra islands are indirectly related to each other.
