Di Hamri Marine Conservation Area

Di Hamri, Socotra

The desert Cape Di Hamri was one of the first Socotra’s places used for encamping.  However, it still has not necessary facilities.

According a sign over the entrance there is a marine preserve. Here you can have a swim in the sea (if there are no waves) and walk along the cape.

Some theorists of literature consider Socotra to be the prototype of Prospero Island mentioned in Shakespeare's play «The Tempest».
